While relevant to me..... since I unofficially maintain CM for the OG, I think it's relevant to us all in the building process.

This Week in CyanogenMod
Week Ending: July 12, 2013

“This Week in CyanogenMod” is an ongoing feature that aims to serve as a one-stop shop for weekly updates. Topics discussed are culled from our social media accounts, gerrit, status updates and general thoughts.

We had a very security centric week here at CM – here is the recap

Master Keys
There were a couple high-profile security issues brought to attention this week, and we moved to patch both of them in our sources. CM 10.1.1 and 10.1.2 were shipped to address two separate bugs tentatively title as “Master Key” issues. Both Android bug 8219321 and 9695860 are patched as of CM 10.1.2.

We will likely do a legacy release to CM7 to address these in the future as well, but for now, users of legacy releases of CM 9 and 10.0 are encouraged to update to the latest nightlies available; as always, stay vigilant and safe.

Samsung Emergency Calling
We fixed a long-standing issue with the XMM626x modem (baseband) and emergency calling. This affects a handful of Samsung devices, Exynos and non-Exynos alike.

Exynos SoC Device Bringup

Speaking of Samsung devices, we’ve gotten a lot of requests for status tracking on our efforts to fix the Exynos platform’s issues. In that respect, we’ve created a project on JIRA that can be watched by interested users.

Don’t Call it Babel
Koush has been a busy man, and last week he found a way to integrate Google Voice messaging into the stock Messaging application. In true tongue-and-cheek fashion, he’s dubbed this application ‘Babel’ for the time being, but is looking for name suggestions for the new functionality. He provided a status update on both the Secure Messaging protocol (with Moxie taking over development) and all things Babel.
